Danna Leese was born and raised in Washington D.C. Gospel choir, musical theatre and childhood music studies enhanced her desire for the stage. Her style has been influenced and inspired by many genres of music but R&B, hip hop and soulful house are her institutions.She is a familiar face in several cities and in many musical ambients around the globe. Cielo in NYC, Dreamers in Marbella, Club 29 and 360 in Istanbul, Space and Amnesia of Ibiza , Fire in London and Buddha Bar in Paris and various private events around the world. She has sung in many important International Music Festivals: BOOM, Victoria Jazz and was the opening act for George Benson and James Brown in Barcelona’s Grec festival with her Acid jazz group Princes of Time. She has a performance history in theatre and theatrical studies and has worked with the internationally acclaimed theatre company "la Fura dels Baus" .
Her electro-lounge house group, Stigmato Inc received great international recognition with the single
"Reality Check" appearing in Hotel Costes CD (6th edition).The song also was chosen for ‘Oliver Stone's’, Wall Street 2 "Money Never Sleeps". And the group Stigmato also performed in Miami's Winter Conference in Opium Gardens (05).One of the world's most famous Dj and producer Kascade remixed their song ‘Strive to be Happy’ to hit the charts.
Danna’s latest clubbing hits are ‘Rise Up’ with Dik Lewis on Matinee Group compilations 2011 , ‘Let it Go!’ with Dj Alex Seda under Nervous Records and ‘Jet Set’ with Javi Mula with Blanco Y Negro. Other songs and vocals have been released under recording labels such as VALE Music (Spain), IRMA (Italy), Apricot (Fr), Solar Sides/Private Lounge (Fr) and Utensils Records (USA).
She has shared the stage with well celebrity dj’s such as David Morales, Bob Sinclair, Mark Vedo, Javi Mula, Carlos Gallardo and Maxi Jazz of ‘Faithless’.
She currently resides in Istanbul and has been in Europe for more than a decade. This powerhouse
performer, composer and singer has a talent for creating 'Good Times' with foot stomping vibes.
On stage she is a vocal instrument that has dynamic presence, rhythm and endless creativity.
Her clubbing sessions with DJ are colored with vocal diversity, riffs, rhythmical sounds, familiar and unfamiliar melodies are executed in her concerts and are accompanied by musicians and visuals to achieve continual flow of surprises and heart thumping vibes! Skilled improvisation is mixed in to keep it fresh!
Her songs and productions are a fusion of many styles.
